Brampton man arrested, drugs and cash seized
A Brampton man has been arrested following an investigation by the Guelph Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit.
Earlier this year, officers began investigating a male believed to be actively trafficking controlled substances in Guelph and surrounding area.
On Tuesday the male was arrested as he exited his vehicle in the south end of Guelph. Two packages of cocaine and a quantity of cash were located following his arrest. Officers obtained a search warrant for the male’s home, which was searched Tuesday afternoon.
As a result of the searches, officers recovered approximately $4,000 worth of cocaine, $16,000 in cash and an airsoft pistol.
A 32-year-old Brampton man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possessing proceeds of crime over $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in court May 13.
