The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a male was shot and killed late Tuesday.

Approximately 10:10 p.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Waterloo Avenue and Woodycrest Drive after receiving reports of gun shots. Upon arrival police located a 37-year-old male with injuries from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators believe this to be a targeted incident. The suspects were described as two black males with all dark clothing.

The investigation is ongoing by the Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit. There will be an increased presence of police in the area as the investigation continues.
