Male Arrested After Theft Of Alcohol

On February 23rd, 2025, at 9:40am, an adult male entered a restaurant located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. He then walked behind the bar, took two bottles of alcohol valued at $150, and left on foot.

On February 25th, at 4pm, the male entered a business located near the intersection of Clair Road East and Gordon Street. He selected two bottles of alcohol valued at almost $70, concealed them and left the store on foot.

On March 13th, at 11:19am, officers located the male in the downtown core, and he was subsequently arrested.

A 24-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Theft Under $5,000 x2
-Breach Probation

He will appear in court on April 22nd.

Speed Enforcement

On March 13th, 2025, at 7:58am, a Guelph Police Service officer began conducting speed enforcement near the intersection of Gordon Street and Stone Road West in the City of Guelph.

In just over three hours of enforcement in the 50km/hr zone, the highest speeds observed was a driver travelling at 81km/hr and a driver travelling at 80km/hr. Provincial Offence Notices were issued.

The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to slow down to help ensure everyone arrives to their destination safely.

Graffiti Investigation Leads To Multiple Charges

On March 13th, 2025, at 11am, an adult male victim observed an adult male subject drawing graffiti on a garbage bin in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. He confronted the subject and told him to stop. The subject then threatened to stab the victim while reaching into his side pocket. The victim then left the area and contacted the Guelph Police Service for assistance.

At 12:51pm, police located the subject in the downtown core, and he was subsequently arrested.

A search incident to arrested revealed:
-a stun gun
-brass knuckles
-various knives including a spring-loaded knife
-an extendable baton
-a small amount of methamphetamine
-a small amount of fentanyl

A 37-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Mischief Under $5,000
-Utter Threat To Cause Death/Bodily Harm
-Unauthorized Possession Of A Prohibited Weapon x3
-Possession Of Weapons For A Dangerous Purpose
-Possession Of A Schedule I Substance x2

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 14th.
