Fraud Unit Investigation – 2 Arrested
In February 2024, the Guelph Police Service Fraud Unit initiated an investigation into a report of fraudulent financial activity within an organization in Guelph. The alleged financial misconduct occurred between the years 2016 and 2018. Over this period, the organization sustained a loss of close to $100,000.
On September 30, 2024, a 66-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with two counts of fraud over $5000. He was released with a November 12, 2024, court date.
On October 2, 2024, a 44-year-old Kitchener female was arrested and charged with two counts of fraud over $5000. She was released with a November 15, 2024, court date.
Youth Arrested for Assault Cause Bodily Harm
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Guelph police were called to a high school where there was a report of an assault. Investigation revealed two females became involved in an altercation. As a result of this altercation, one female is alleged to have been assaulted, receiving serious injuries, including a concussion.
A 15-year-old female was arrested and charged with assault cause bodily harm.
